HDMI to DisplayPort?
Hi, I bought a new monitor that was supposed to do 180 Hz. I then went into the settings to change the monitor from 60 Hz to 180 Hz. But that didn't work because I could only set it to 120 Hz. I then did some research and found out that I needed a DisplayPort for that. I don't have a DisplayPort cable and I don't have a DisplayPort connection on my laptop. I wanted to buy a cable that starts with HDMI and ends with DisplayPort, and I'm wondering if I'll still be able to transmit the desired 180 Hz or if it will then behave like a normal DisplayPort cable.
I am very grateful for any answer, thank you!
I don’t think that goes because HDMI can only max 144
you can only play 144 fps/hz
aaah ok thank you
most are also cheap dinger of china who can possibly even only 60
Hello,
a chain can always be as strong as its weakest member. If the graphics solution or the HDMI port transmission directly connected to it to the output no more than max. 120Hz at higher resolvings offer, so stop in the forwarding to the monitor via HDMI to DP also no longer goes.

It won’t work. On the other hand, if you have a DisplayPort output on the notebook, you might be stuck with a DisplayPort HDMI cable to the HDMI socket of your monitor.
