HDD is not recognized Macbook?

Good evening

Since yesterday, my WD My Passport drive hasn't been recognized on my MacBook. Not only in Finder, but also in the hard drive program.

Can anyone help me?

best regards

If a Windows PC / laptop is present, CrystalDiskInfo can check how the condition of the disk is:

https://www.heise.de/download/product/crystaldiskinfo-59349

If it is only used on MacBook, a HFP+ file system is likely on the disk that cannot be read by Windows. On the WD page, you will find a driver below:

https://support-de.wd.com/app/products/downloads/softwaredownloads

this could be attempted to save the data.

Another option is to use a Linux Live DVD / ISO to read the disk. If none of these proposals lead to success, only one data recovery company remains.

Have you ever tried another USB port?

Does the plate make strange sounds?

Does she even smell?

Did you hang her to another computer? What's going on?

A defect of the plate or the board in the housing would be possible. If the plate is broken, you can't do anything. If the board is defective, you could expand the board and insert it into another case.

The fact that Windows cannot access the disk is probably due to a formatting for macOS. Windows does not manage this.
