Have you been scammed on eBay classifieds (or at least suspected)?

Good evening,

I bought an iPhone 13 Pro on eBay about two weeks ago. The seller said it would arrive on Tuesday. But it's been a week since then.

One can now speculate whether the seller is a scammer or not, but I am firmly convinced that he is a scammer.

The following day, two weeks ago, I sent €200 to the seller via PayPal Friends & Family. (At the time, I didn't know what this feature actually meant.) But now I know (there's no buyer protection).

Now I am desperate as to what I could do, because I:

  1. live in Switzerland
  2. Nothing heard from the seller/ Ebay Classifieds Support

Well, it was a stupid mistake to pay via Paypal, especially via the Friends & Family feature.

What can I do/how can I take legal action?

LG Harold

I also think the coal is gone.

By the way: Ebay classifieds have not been available for more than a year.

I don’t think you’ll ever see the phone and you don’t have a real handle either. Classifieds can block the account at most and you can only reimburse an ad.

Since a warning is already displayed to you in the chat of classifieds, why did you pay anyway?

probably nothing, but do I see something wrong now or were you still stupid when you didn’t ask for a broadcast number???

perhaps the wodka first, doesn’t have to get worse, but there are more cases in it, one has lost 500, one is a weak consolation, but is not alone

I can only give a hint, get you a bottle of vodka, but I have some pity, but still a tip that could have been able to send a blank carton about sure, I would never buy a phone from private online

Normal Paypal (with buyer protection) is good. You should always pay. You get the money back.

Yeah, well, you’ll be careful in the future, and then I’m sure you won’t happen.

You can’t do it. The money’s just gone.

The case is clear. You made an irrevocable gift. And if you get Paypal, they’ll lock you up because you’ve been violating their GTCs.

Because a fee would have been due for a payment process.

Yeah, really. 200 euros is a lot of money, but it won’t happen again.

No. Something’s wrong. If you’re mistakenyou are have paid for goods and services, although you actually wanted F&F, you would also have buyer protection.

What do you mean? For family and friends, Paypal does not charge fees. Is that what the “seller” said to you so that you can pay 200€ plus a fee? 😳

Have experienced the same with another article. However, we only had about 40€

Yeah, I understand. I cannot currently work for health reasons. Dackel but several times a week to the doctor

200€ for a device that is traded around 350€? I knew there was something wrong.

You can’t do much. You can display against Unknown. At least help statistics.

Never pay via the payment functions of small ads.

Contact the support.

Um…Always pay the payment system of classifieds. This offers full buyer protection.

I never do – I’ll clear it offline by bank transfer. First coal, then merchandise. But okay – I’m selling rather than shopping.

be happy that it’s just the €200, and remember for the future, never transfer anything to PayPal about family and friends, and remember that at classifieds there are more fraudsters running around than in a JVA.

You gave your money! Learn from it!

You cheated on PayPal and now you want to do it legally? Forget it!
