Hello, I would be interested to know who, apart from the practice that issued the prescription and the pharmacy, can see which prescriptions have been issued currently and in the past. If, for example, I have received an e-prescription from my family doctor, can any other doctor who has scanned my GK this quarter also…
Hey, I was prescribed alprazolam (Tafil) for sleep problems and panic attacks. My doctor told me that the medication can make you very drowsy. So my question is, can I get to school on time with a dose of 0.5 mg, or is there a chance I'll oversleep? I have to get up at 6…
Hello everyone, I took mirtazapine for about three months for stress-related sleep problems (first 7.5, then 15 mg). After about two months, I noticed it wasn't working anymore. I tried to stop taking it. Unfortunately, when I reduced the dose from 15 to 7.5 mg, I hadn't slept for about six nights, and things didn't…
Aripiprazole is a drug from the group of atypical antipsychotics. It is approved for the treatment of schizophrenic psychosis and manic episodes (bipolar disorder). The use of depression is common, but is done in the off-label use (application without official approval of the drug authority).
You are one of the many consumers: inside, which, especially at the beginning of the treatment and after dose increases, determine states of internal disorder, tension, nervousness and agitation. About 1-10% are affected. These side effects usually go back after some time (about 14-21 days). In a few cases they remain for the duration of the entire treatment.
What brings this drug to depression?
Since antidepressants are often inadequately effective, attempts are made to achieve an effect with so-called additional drugs. These are primarily mood stabilizers such as lithium or lamotigin or also atypical antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or quetiapine.
In the USA, aripiprazole is approved as an additional drug for treatment-resistant depression, not in Europe. Why isn’t known to me because there are various studies that prove a certain antidepressive effect. In addition, there are various (almost not all) people who have a better antidepressive effect from certain atypical antipsychotics (especially aripiprazole, brexpiprazole, quetiapine and also cariprazin) than from antidepressants.
Aripiprazole should never be placed without consultation with the doctor. But to your question: the maximum plasma concentration of Aripiprazole is reached after about 3-5 hours. Then the mirror drops again, though slowly. The half-life is 60-80 hours. The side effects should generally decrease after about 3-5 days. Until they have completely disappeared, it can take a few days longer.
Will the side effects go fast when I stop the drug?
Hello,
No no experience but I could give you advice on Google to see if you find something (which you’ve probably done long ago but haven’t gotten into it) or ask a pharmacist to call or ask your pediatrician.
Hope I could help you.
