Does anyone have experience with intermenstrual bleeding?

I'm 18 years old and have been using the Ginoring for contraception for about a year. I never had any problems, but I took a four-month break anyway to do something good for my body. Now I've felt the need to use it again, but I'm having spotting during foreplay. I'm also getting frequent stomach pains, which I never had before. Before I was supposed to start my first cycle with the ring, my period was two weeks late, even though it had always been regular. I'm on vacation at the moment and I'm worried that the ring might lose its effectiveness. Does anyone know anything about this? After the vacation, I'll definitely go to the gynecologist.

Like all medicines, any combined hormonal contraceptive (as well as your GinoRing) can also cause undesirable side effects in addition to the desired effect, which can happen – but does not have to.

Please take a look at the package leaflet.

GinoRing users have reported on the following side effects:

Frequently: can affect up to 1 of 10 women

• abdominal pain, disease (abuseness)

Occasionally: can affect up to 1 of 100 women

• Problems during sexual intercourse, such as pain, bleeding or sexual partner, feel the ring

• changes in the bleeding behaviour (e.g. can lead to strong, long or irregular monthly bleedings or they can completely fail); Complaints

to do something good to my body.

The risk for a deep vein thrombosis is the greatest during the first year of taking/application of a preparation. The risk then drops again, but it still remains higher than in healthy women who do not use pill/ring.

That’s why you don’t do a favor for your body to put in between longer “hormone breaks”. A (short-term) hop-on hop-off of hormones is more stressful for the body than a continuous intake – even if you have no boyfriend, for example.

After all, unwanted side effects and risks can occur again and/or intensified at the next start.

But neither the occurrence or absence of side effects are a hint of efficacy, let alone pregnancy.

Happy for you!

Surely you can’t exclude it I’d make a pregnancy test. How long did you wear the ring before sex?
