Does anyone have experience with speech therapy and can perhaps tell me how high the chances are of success in getting my problems under control?

I've had the following symptoms for a little over a year and a half: a lump in my throat, sometimes a feeling of tension in the throat, an irritated throat, and rapid vocal overload. It's not that my voice is getting weaker, but there's pain in my throat/neck area. Side note: Male, 22 years old. My ENT can't help me, nor can my gastroenterologist, and it's not a muscular issue. I've considered speech therapy, maybe? And what are the chances of success?

The range of possible diseases is quite large in the case of the symptom described, therefore it is impossible to calculate success opportunities here. It can only be true to the user below that patients with a hyperfunction (= increased muscle tension during speaking) often report about this feel after some time.

Would be safe for number and get second opinion from a Phoniatrie specialist, as it sometimes specializes in voice disorders. There emphasise the pressure of suffering (“pains”) and express the desire for logopedic therapy, a medical prescription (cass recipe) is generally issued. The logo paper itself has sufficient time to carry out a detailed survey of the findings within its units. Thus, the chance is high to establish possible external influences that have contributed to the development of this voice disorder. Further questions can also be clarified, e.g. whether it would be useful to consult further disciplines such as psychotherapy.

By the way, in addition to logo-paedia, other professional groups may also treat voice disorders via a cure regulation, such as breathing, speech and voice teachers or patholinguists. Would always ask the question of the experience of the treating therapist with the disorder image.

Since here is a layman forum, answering medical questions is very risky.

It’s probably better to let you consult the logo holder, they know better than we do.

Depends on it. What are you doing professionally? And how do you talk in your spare time? If you can exclude organic problems, it is 99% of a wrong speech.

then introduce yourself to a logo holder. Of course, this cannot be judged as far as the vote is concerned.

Logopedia deals with your voice and pronunciation. Look at it, it can’t hurt.
