Does anyone have any recommendations for car rentals in Dubai? Non-scam?
Hello, we were scammed out of €1,000 in April this year. I spent weeks researching to find a good car rental company, but in the end, they kept the deposit… Apparently, that's standard practice.
I'd like to go back to Dubai and rent a car again. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experience or recommendations for a company? I would be very grateful for any tips and tricks!
I always rented our cars at Hertz or Thrifty. The deposit amount was only blocked on the KK and immediately re-opened upon return. Hope you’ve regained your bail. Emiratis, of course, do not like it when people are pulled over the table and have even set up their own appeal for such Faelle.
The standard is to keep the deposit unjustly, is absolutely not the case.
Hello, thank you for your answer. Hertz and Thrifty don’t have the kind of cars I’d like to borrow. Bzw, there is, but at the prices I can’t fully understand. The deposit was also collected by credit card.
Well, the ones are just transparent and postpone the prices from the beginning, the others lure with cheaper and then try to earn their money.
Therefore, better take serious providers than the cheapest.
Compared the prices for cheaper cars and then consider what would be appropriate for them in comparison. On the one hand, due to the pure vehicle value, as well as of course that such cars are scratch-free, etc. have to be higher maintenance and repair costs. Since customers are more demanding than in a cheap car.
And always very important: Just before you see if anything is, everything you see in the transfer protocol, no matter how small. To do this, take photos first of all, so right on site before you take it to prove it was already there. Also look at the rims, etc., so that you don’t see scratches and get counted afterwards.
Were the staff part of me annoyed because of this (and no, that didn’t last 2 hours, but 5 minutes of intensiev looking and documenting, so photo and markings on the skitze of the log), yes, I always got my deposit completely back except it had happened during my rental period, yes. In addition, read exactly what is insured if there is damage, so that you may not have to pay it, they do not point one to it and prefer to take it from the deposit. Because my handover protocol was full of small marked scratches and dents, it was even lucky that they didn’t pay me a damage. There was a lot of new scratches on the mirror with a different-colored lacquer, but since a few old small scratches were marked on the skitze, they thought that was an old damage – returned the full deposit. That was really very small scratches.
What kind of car can be?
Hello, thanks for the detailed answer. I also look at “euer” providers, but I don’t find any one where I can read bad recessions after a few clicks. Where did you rent your cars? Maybe I can look at the page.
