Does anyone have the K&N air filter on their KTM Duke 125?
I've had it for a few days now; the sound has improved somewhat, and the acceleration feels quite different, but I can't quite tell if that's better or worse. It just doesn't sound as if it's dying anymore, especially in the lower gears, and it's easier to rev up. But I'm still worried that it might actually be running worse than before (unfortunately, I don't have anything to compare it to at the moment), since the acceleration has changed significantly. Can someone reassure me on this?
Stupid comments about the purpose of air filters can be kept to yourself 🙂 LG
The K&N air filters are simply replaced by standard air filters. There are no changes to the system
necessary. The standard setting on the carburetor does not need to be changed. Using K&N
Air filters do not result in power loss, on the contrary, because the potential of the air filter box is optimized. Noise and
Exhaust regulations are complied with. K&N air filters have the same service life as the engines and therefore enable
considerable savings in filter purchase. The unique filter system can extend the service life of the engines and
protects optimally from dangerous dust, sand, etc. K&N filters are fully washable continuous filters with little maintenance
can be used again and again without losing the filter effect and air flow. Source: K&N
Hello,
well two weeks ago, you were advised to add another question about the air filter.
You asked, “Save the money?”
What other than “SINNVOLLE comments about the sense of air filters” or “I told you right away” do you expect here?
And that’s why I write it:
I’m HABS DIR DOCH GLEICH GESAGT!!!
That’s the bad thing to do if you have no idea and don’t listen to others.
As ApriliaRx has already written, the air filter alone, without further adjustments, usually brings a deterioration. In some cases, if another air filter is used, the nozzles must be changed (depending on the motorcycle).
Why don’t you even ask questions if you do it differently?
You could have saved your time and, above all, me.
Best regards
Michael
I got him “satisfied” very cheap and then just couldn’t stand back and tried it out. Basically, I’m not dissatisfied, but after all, you’re always smarter. LG
Yeah, that’s true.
Maybe you have someone in the acquaintance circle who knows a little about engines, injection, air filters and technology and can do the settings.
Otherwise you won’t really enjoy it.
Best regards
Michael
What do you expect if you stick a new air filter? If you don’t tune your car to the new air passage, it won’t work with the performance increase. Besides, you could get a problem with the combustion temperature…more air though more power but also more heat.
