Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with cortisol blockers?
Hey, I'm a 17-year-old girl who has daily problems with aggression. I'm almost constantly irritable and tend to become aggressive quickly. My dad sometimes tells me I have real outbursts of anger (which I can't remember to such an extent). Meditation, going for walks, etc., don't "work," so I've been wondering if cortisol blockers might help. I haven't found much on Google about the effects/side effects, so I thought someone here might be able to share their experience with them. Thanks in advance π
From the abdomen I would say that you could at best expect placebo-related effects. Even if Wikipedia is References (where the author is a user who only wrote this article, probably in his own interest). Placebo effects are not necessarily insignificant, but in the end only those who sell such products are likely to benefit.
This is the wrong approach. First of all, you should check if you ever produce too much cortisol. Therefore, I would recommend that you consult your physician and, if necessary, a neurologist/psychologe to exclude an organic/physical cause. Only then should one treat medicamentally.
I wouldn’t believe in a disorder of hormones first, but in falsely learned reaction patterns.
It helps a behavioral therapy.
