Rabbit cold?

Hello, our little dwarf rabbit has had a cold with sneezing and other symptoms since he was little. We've already been to the vet twice with various medications and injections. The vet said the rabbit has exhausted all treatment options. Medications only work for 2-6 weeks. Anyone have any tips?

Please visit a veterinarian specialising in rabbits (i.e. on pet animals).

Many veterinarians give Baytril as a standard antibiotic, but I know from experience that this does not always work so well and bacteria are quickly resistant to it. A rinse sample must be made where the exact pathogens are detected.

Besides, you say the medicines help only 2-6 weeks. Does your rabbit get antibiotics for 6 weeks? That’s too long. This can also be too much for the body. Antibiotics also breaks the digestion.

In addition, your rabbit has to build up a good immune system again. Ginger helps very well. You can give it raw. Ginger is eaten only in small quantities. If he doesn’t eat it, you can shave it with apple.

There is also the possibility that it is not a rabbit snippet, but a completely different disease. In many diseases, rabbits begin to sniff.

So please go to another vet.
