Has the insurance already been switched, what do you think?
Good day everyone,
Due to an error by my agent, my car insurance was canceled. I then received a letter asking me to provide proof of valid insurance.
I've now taken out the insurance myself and the nice lady from ADAC Insurance said that we should send it straight to them at the registration office.
It was completed yesterday.
Unfortunately, I work very far away, so I can't just walk to the registration office.
I've called there many times, but knowing the authorities, no one answers.
my question:
Is the evB number registered immediately after it is sent to the registration office?
Or will it take a while until they get it done?
the city has 40,000 inhabitants
How does it work if you change insurance? Is it a simple switch?
This means that an insurance confirmation must be submitted retroactively.
This is called an "eVBÜ" and can't be obtained "around the corner"! Your agent, who messed it up, would be responsible for that!
In a digital world where even individual citizens are taking full advantage of their opportunities, you would have obtained an online information from the " Central Vehicle Register (ZFZR) " at the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). There, after a notification from the State Traffic Inspectorate (StVA), you can quickly see which insurance company, with which eVB, and from which date onward.
If you've already received a notice that your insurance coverage has expired, that's going to be expensive. And you shouldn't drive the vehicle until you have confirmation from the StVA that the eVB is there. That would be a criminal offense.
