Harley Davidson Sportster with A2 driving license?

Hello bikers,

I'd like to buy a Harley. I was recommended a Sportster, but I only have an A2 license. Am I allowed to ride it? If necessary, you can restrict pretty much any moped, right?

Thank you for your answers, MfG

also the weight ratio must fit – and not have more than 70Kw – then can be throttled –

the ccm are not inductible

With the A2 one does not have to pay attention to the ccm or the displacement space. You can do so much.

With the standard power of 67hp, it would actually be under it. However, whether the American manufacturer carries an ABE-Taugliche throttle in its program is questionable.

70KW, but that would even be 95 hp

The most extensive offer is Harley-Davidson with 22 35 kW models. The throttling is carried out by the dealer. Suzuki offers 11, Triumph 10, Yamaha 8, Honda 7,BMW 5 and Kawasaki 4 real 35 kW machines. Required power reductions
are mainly carried out by dealers. Depending on the retrofit measure, the costs can be set at about 150 to 300 €. This can also be negotiated with a new purchase

The list is already somewhat antique?

The Harleys are generally heavy enough that you don’t have to worry about the power weight at 35 kW anyway.

The unthrottled power must not be more than 70 kW – so note this when selecting the model.

What are you looking at?

Even the current 1200 Custom (XL 1200 CB) has only 50 kW – unthrottled.

Which BMW do you have in the driving school?

The 883 Roadster is not a problem from the performance -> 39 kW. It must then be throttled to 35 kW.

Weight -> is present. 250 kg she just…

She’s got a job214 kg empty weight. This covers the usual 200 kg for machines in the performance class (range four with just under 70 kW).

However, handling from a cruiser is different –> because the focus is significantly lower overall and the seat position is also.

Hello,

you should also ask the “recommendative” what kind of sport he thinks – there is not THE Sportster!!!

Otherwise, you can drive each throttled to 35 kW / 48 hp, as there is no more than 70 kW.

Whether everyone can be strangled on it, and how do you get to the Harley dealer of your trust 😉

On mobile.de there are definitely some with up to 35 kW:

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 680/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2013 laying down detailed rules for the application of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the common organisation of the market in milk and milk products (OJ L 347, 20.12.2013, p. 1).

Best regards

Michael

Chic bike 😉

However, Chopper / Cruiser / Bobber / Roadster are often not the most suitable for the starter, as you can also set up with those in the curve.

You should sample any desired candidate beforehand. Only then can you see if the motorcycle fits you and if you get along well with it.

Welcome to Michael

an 883 is not bad. Many then prefer to drive at 1200 (I had ne xl custom from 2012), because these go better from the motor and from the switch. Don’t just stiffen the roadsters, drive the iron rehearsal.
