Hardshell jacket absorbs some water at one point?

Good day,

I ordered the Patagonia Triolet jacket a few days ago, and it arrived this week. There's a small area on the hood where water doesn't completely bead up, and the material discolors slightly when wet. While no water has penetrated the inside, I'm still not sure if that's really supposed to be the case.

Thank you in advance

That should definitely not be like that. In order to get the material water repellent, it is appropriately equipped (impregnated) or coated. At this point this impregnation/coating is lacking, the substance does not absorb moisture and thereby becomes dark. You can claim this and demand replacement or a discount if you get clear with this impairment.

Buy impregnation spray in the drugstore and work these places all after.
