Handwheel on sewing machine blocked?

Hello 🙂

I've had a Veritas Textima (8014/29) for about a year now. It was in for repair for the third time at the end of August. Well, I'm still a relative beginner and learned to sew on a modern Singer, so a few things are different. Generally, I'm getting along better with my Veritas, but I still make mistakes sometimes. So much for the back story. 😅

Yesterday I was sewing, at first everything went perfectly, then I had to rewind the thread, put the bobbin thread in the bobbin, wanted to pull it up…but the needle blocked and I have no idea why :((

This time I can't think of any mistake I might have made. Perhaps someone has an idea, something I can do myself. I don't really want to send it back in for repair, but if it has to be done, then of course it has to be done. But we'll just have to wait and see 🙂 I'm hoping for a few people who know more about technology than I do :DD

The gripper was bent several times???!

This indicates a basic operating error. Did you change the needle before? Do you pull the fabric under the needle instead of guiding it and leaving the material transport of the machine the feed? Have you met the Often Pin while you are sewing? How does it look with the thread tension? is the harmonic and the fabric matched? Did the spool fall down and hit hard ground? Does the machine "beards" of upper thread advertise under the stitch plate? Is the coil compartment cleaned regularly with a brush and little sewing machine oil is added to the axis of the coil capsule?

That's a shot of questions you should follow. Such repairs indicate a rough mistreatment of this miracle work of fine mechanics. Such devices should always be made with caution and tender love so that they can give back all love over their lifetime.

But this reads more like "two bumpers and the passenger door is parked" than once the engine is strangled.

PS: Have you always pushed the sewing needle to the top of your holder before you screw it firmly?

Was the needle before you gave the subwool in completely up?

Is the lower locked coil correct?

A non-shaved bobbin can also lead to blocking BEFORE the needle is so far down that it sits on the bobbin. That's the point behind it so that you don't even bend the needle or even break it off in the device.

Yeah, well, then there's nothing wrong with that…

Are you sure that the spool fits the machine and the spool and spool are correctly inserted?

Yes, the repair would have been noticed if the inserted spool does not fit the machine.

Some people just buy coils and don't make sure they fit. In this case, however, 1mm difference can cause the machine to no longer work.
