Hamster suddenly starts hoarding?
Hey, so my hamster never liked being near my hand. He's a Golden Retriever, so he stayed away from my hands and never burrowed or anything like that.
For a few days now he has been really curious about my hand when it comes to me, he just nibbled on it very gently and held it in his paws (i.e. a finger).
Now he's running around the aquarium with his cheeks so full and full, looking for a place to hide. I'm actually a bit confused; he never stashed food, or rather, only very little, so it was barely noticeable. It was a complete surprise when he stuffed his cheeks like that. They were actually so full that he pulled some of it out to get through his entrance and his little house.
I've heard that hoarding is good, but right now I have the feeling he's overdoing it a bit, especially since he's never done that before. Within seconds, he collected all the seeds hidden in the water and even tried to pack the large snack stick, which is obviously impossible and looked pretty amusing.
He has now brought his bunker and house and now he is sitting in front of the pole again and eating rum as if something had just happened.
It’s normal for Hamster that they bunk. I used to have paint showers that started to drag food away after some time. This is her natural behavior. The fact that your hamster is suddenly curious about your hand is also normal. If you often get something big, strange smelling in your room, you would initially be afraid, but at some point the curiosity would come.
That he now begins to bunkers and shows your hand that he feels safe and has no fear in his small territory. When you get rodents fresh, they often feel anxious at the beginning and do not behave normally. They’re held back and often hide. As soon as they get used to their surroundings, they will behave more naturally and also show their curiosity.
It’s normal for hamsters to bunkers. It is rather untypical as your hamster has been acting at the beginning. So be happy
If everything sounds normal, it’ll make you feel happy.
