Hallo, ich bin gerade dabei eine Schmuckschatulle mit mosaik zu verzieren. Meine frage lautet jetzt, hält die Fugenmasse auf dem Holzlack Untergrund?

I can say that badly. But usually you grind painted surfaces if you want to apply anything.

One should first consider how to attach the mosaic parts. If these hold firmly, the joint mass will also hold in between. In addition, the joint mass can be produced on the basis of various binders. Two classics are cement mortar or linseed oil cat. There are also acrylic and sikikon masses, but they require a very clean work.

To make lacquer surfaces “handy” I would first prepare them for overcoating and then sprinkle the new lacquer layer with fine sand. Mineral joint compositions and many adhesives then retain them better than on untreated lacquer.

Adhesiveness and joint mass should be matched to the substrate, the mosaic stones and to one another, that the whole fits harmoniously to one another.
