Was it a hacker attack or did Netflix want to get rid of my cheap basic plan?
Hello, I only use Netflix every now and then, for example when filling up my electric car, and therefore opted for the basic plan (7.99 €, 720p, 1 stream).
A colleague told me that this plan hasn't been available for some time and Netflix apparently wants to get customers to upgrade to the next higher plan for €12.99.
Then, last night, I suddenly received two emails from Netflix within a minute. The first explained that my registered phone number had been removed due to inactivity, and the second informed me that my email address had been changed "at my request," which I hadn't requested.
I've now contacted Netflix to have my account restored (with new login details). However, I'd still like to know what really happened. Did someone hack my Netflix account, or could there be other reasons?
Your colleague, unfortunately, is right about the basic tariff. Because the 7,99€ base rate has not been available for several months. Instead of basic tariff he gives standard subscription with advertising for 4,99€. You have to look out with advertising interrupting the movie, but you can watch FullHD and watch up to 15 tracks per month download and offline.
