Do women in poor countries have iron deficiency?

Do you think that women in third world countries who are very poor and eat almost only grain have an iron deficiency?

Iron deficiency is common here too, but what do you think it is like in third world countries where very poor people eat almost only grain because they can't afford anything else, and because they almost never eat meat that contains iron.

And women in particular have an increased need for iron.

Do you think these women have an iron deficiency?

Iron deficiency in the first two years of life affects the mental development of 40 to 60 percent of all children in developing countries. In adults, constant iron deficiency reduces labour productivity. Gross domestic product is thus reduced by an estimated two percent in some countries. In pregnant women suffering from iron deficiency, the risk of premature or death increases. Through severe iron deficiency during pregnancy, around 50,000 women die every year at the birth of their child.

Many women eat clay and other irony earths. They therefore use a natural product to quench their iron content.
