As a 29-year-old woman, do I still have a good chance of learning programming and finding a job?

Hello folks,

I, a 29-year-old woman, would like to change my current job. I've always wanted to learn programming, but I've never had the courage to do it.

Now the question: Is it still worth it at 29 or is it too late?

I want to work as a web developer later and would start with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Do you think I could do it, or do I have a good chance of finding a job later on as a woman who only starts learning at the age of 29?

How long will it take approximately until I can work in a job like this?

In the industry, the shortage of skilled workers now eats up the management shortages personally, no bud can be more selective in terms of its employees. You have chances.

How long it takes to teach can be very different and depends on how your knowledge is up to date. Just look at Youtube for a variety of beginnerstutorials HTML/CSS and see if you enjoy it. Later, if you can do some things, you just have to hand yourself and make a few websites. This can take a few months until you’re solidified with all the stuff, but it’s not a witchcraft either.

Alternatively, you can also look for courses, maybe also promote the job center and pay you a further education in the field.

That’s not too late at all.

It is important to learn programming that you really bring interest and fun.

If you don’t enjoy it, you won’t learn it or you’ll learn it hard.

Start with the basics and learn how such a programming language works, i.e. with the basic concept of programming.

Afterwards I would start with HTML and also learn JavaScript, Python and C.

You will quickly realize that the programming languages always have many similarities, which will make it easier for you.

It’s never too late. Even with 89 you can learn how to program. But it must be fun for you that is the most important.

So I, as a skilled chemist, made a training on the WebDeveloper right after my studies in chemistry with 26 and now work after a long thorny path and after 5 employers at a portal operator in Hamburg. Some of you know what I’m doing.

I decided to become a web devoloper at the time because I found nothing appropriate in chemistry and make my hobby/additional knowledge a profession ‘musste’. Because during my studies, I have already created programs for control and evaluation and my own static HTML page was built.

So my advice from deepest experience. There are too many simple web designers. What is required are people with regular insider knowledge in all programming languages.

Start and look at it as a hobby. Because you will not have much time, because the professional and private “day business” will continue.

Web development, HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, etc. has something to do with “programming” for me only to a limited extent… this is “scripts”.

Therefore, if HTML is “programming” for you, although HTML is not even a programming language … difficult! Apparently, you don’t know what you’re talking about or what you want to do at all…

HTML is super simple – you learn the basics in 2-3 weeks, but… what about the rest? For example, databases like MySQL – are today absolute standard! You also have to deal with Photoshop and Co. …

Of course, ALL is possible, but then you will have to learn a lot! Others do a 3-year training and then learn a few more years in operation, study others again (!) even for a single area.

To teach yourself this is almost impossible nowadays and if, then it takes years!

But if you want to go into this area, do an IHK training as a “media designer for digital and print media, direction of operating”. It lasts 3 years and then is 32/33 and can then work in this profession. You don’t make a lot of money – except you make yourself self-employed! But you need more knowledge! It takes a few years to teach! …

Unfortunately, you also have to get clear in the industry with wanting-genies like this one. I have barely experienced an industry in which so many consider themselves to be the elite and despise all others (especially new beginnings). Just ignore

Don’t let yourself be discouraged, nowhere has you as a cross-income as good as in the area.
