Have a hole in the rear exhaust (car)?
How much does it cost to have something welded?

Hello, I'm doing an apprenticeship and I don't have enough money to pay off my car. I'd like to take out a small loan of around €2,000. Do you think this could have negative consequences, or is it even possible since I'm in an apprenticeship? I'm 19 years old.
Hello, I need some advice or a tip. I would like a spoiler on my car. Do you know a site that sells ones that have already been tested? Or do you know how to go about it if you buy an untested one so that you can have it installed without any problems? I…
Hello, I have a W201 190e 2.0 petrol engine 259,000 km run Built in 1988 What was recently renewed: Spark plugs water pump Air filter Transmission oil change Engine oil change CAT treatment Problem (suddenly recently): After 1 minute of standing still, jerking and V8 bubbling noises start coming from the exhaust In addition, the…
Hi. The following question… I am an ADAC Plus member and had vehicle damage. ADAC came and charged the car. Distance to home 40km I wanted to have the car towed home, but I was told that it would only be towed to the nearest possible location or to the ADAC location where they park…
Hello, I'm toying with the idea of getting a CLK someday, and it looks like I have some 'special requests' again… Interior should be beige (beige, grey, black and Designio) Of course, there's no AMG in this color, except for the convertible (which I don't want; firstly, it's not my taste, and the B-pillar-less effect…
Unfortunately, I can't find the number anywhere on the headlight. Either I'm really blind or it's not written on it. Does anyone know more?
Depends on where the hole is. For emergency, it can be sealed with GunGum paste, sheet metal and a bit of wire. I had riveted a piece of sheet on a hole in the pot and came through the HU. Hielt two more years.
If the hole is directly on the flange or on the weld seam, there is often nix more to which one could be welded. Then you have to change.
Sometimes a pipe connector is enough when the hole is in the middle of the straight pipe
It’s unlikely that you can sweat it.
Maybe with a classic car without a cat, and hard to get spare parts.
Probably the hole is only the tip of the iceberg, i.e. the rest is also rusted and scrap. And welding in the installed state can damage the underfloor protection, so even what if you don’t want to drive the car for long anyway.
An exhaust (small damper, without the CAT) is also not particularly expensive, the working time is more expensive – this also speaks for the clean solution of a new part.
Welding is uneconomic because it doesn’t last long.
If it’s just a single hole, it should be quite convenient to fix it.
But I’d guess that’s the whole exhaust just before it’s gone. Then you can’t sweat anything. Then we need a new exhaust.
Yeah, about rust…
Then a new exhaust would really be recommended.
This is different from workshop to workshop. It also depends on the time required. All apprentices can join. Only if and how long it lasts is the question. The big problem at the exhaust is that more rust is there as can be seen. And rust cannot be welded.
it is only a hole but the material is already so thin that welding makes relatively little sense
is that even weldable?? first of all the first question
where is the hole? enough a repair kit
or does the part of the exhaust have to be replaced?
I think the whole exhaust system has to be changed. Back in the exhaust.
If you have a hole, the whole exhaust is porous.
It helps nix sweat.
If he is rusted, you can nix welding 😅
Make yourself an exhaust.
