Green haze on my screens?

Hi, I've recently noticed a green veil on both of my screens. Since I last started up the PC, the picture has taken on a very strong green hue, although it's not pixelated, and the graphics card doesn't run noticeably differently. The picture still looks horrible with the green. When I start up the PC, everything seems normal, but about half a minute after I unlock it, the green tint appears. I've tried other cables, but to no avail. I only noticed it on my second screen the day before and didn't think anything of it because I only used my PC briefly yesterday. I haven't actually been in the settings, and the graphics driver update has been installed for a while. Does anyone have any idea where this is coming from and whether it will possibly go away again?

I have an nvidia 3060ti 16GB

Thanks in advance !

A “green veil” indicates a problem with the RGB color channels. As it occurs with BEIDEN monitors and appears only after the Windows start, the problem is NOT important:

  • the monitors themselves
  • the cables (as you have found unsuccessful)
  • the hardware of your 3060 Ti (often has the 8GB, not 16GB – but this is another story)

The solution is shockingly simple:

  1. Open system control
  2. Under “Display” -> “Adjust Color Settings”
  3. Check the digital color adjustment
  4. Reset the default settings

Alternatively, a faulty Windows color profile could be active. But that would probably exceed your understanding of color management.
