And does my "regular dentist" become aware of this, simply because the other dentist requests my patient data (does he even do that?)?

Yes, also as a legally insured person, you have the free doctor’s choice, including a second opinion, and as much as I know, each dental specialist makes its own initial finding, i.e. no data exchange.

It’s not normal.

And you can go to another dentist anyway.

I don’t know now about the same problem. But normal is the right to a second opinion.
