As a rule, national references for refugees are allowed to travel to these countries in the Schengen area:

Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary have joined the Schengen Agreement and are therefore considered to be ‘Schengener States’.

However, without knowing the exact title of your ID, the statement may also be incorrect.
