I'm a big fan of writing. I often just start typing in the editor and end up with several hundred lines. Now I've decided I want to create my own book. But I don't have the right program for it. Does anyone know anything about this? It should be free, since I unfortunately don't have the budget for a program.

If you want to publish in a publisher, a normal text processing program is sufficient. For example, Microsoft Word or the free alternative LibreOffice Writer would be recommended here.
If you want to transfer your book yourself in the end, it will of course be important for printing. Many printers offer their own tools that can automatically prepare PDF files for printing, but if necessary a special file format is required, you should inform them in advance.

I know two small authors I know, both use LibreOffice.
I write on Word quite normal. Then I listen to what I wrote, because you find quite different mistakes when listening than reading.
