Good beginner drum kit?
I have no experience playing the drums, but I'd like to start learning, so I need a good set of drums that doesn't cost more than €400-500. I'd like to play heavy metal. Is there anything I should consider when buying a drum set?
So in the price range you get (new) only the beginners sets anyway, which is completely enough at the beginning. There are also not so many differences/offers, the Focus 20 or 22 series of Millenium (thomann) are out there.
Generally, you won't get anything particularly great for the price. An upgrade of the foot machine (and possibly Hi-Hat) will certainly get up soon (before you want to be sure of a double bass) if it is clear that you are actually going to continue and are worth investing. Beck is still a point where you can quickly get a lot of money so that it sounds good, but you can also practice an oven sheet; ).
Otherwise, get into a specialty business, pick up a few, so you can also see what the size differences in front of the bass drum make for the construction of the stes. You don't have to buy it.
And if you already have a teacher, talk to him too, he can help with what good is needed, you get more for your money. If you don't have one, look for one and ask for one, they have the bad experience, because the many students have all bought such a thing.
It would be important to invest in good hearing protection, a drum is loud. There you will surely also be a suitable place to set up.
Yeah, I don't think so.
You need to note that you don't get a good drum for the price – this consists of bass drum, 2-3 toms/stand toms, snares, stand hardware, foot machines and basins. The sound comes through the wood and the stress.
For metal you need fat and dark sounding drum. This in turn results from size, wood type and boiler thickness. And like a double-foot bass, which is absolutely impossible for the price.
For 800 to 1000 euros, I could recommend something, but there is also a compromise in terms of equipment and pelvis. For 400 – 500 euros buy what you want, it will definitely be more or less waste. Greeting
You don't get a very good set for that. It doesn't matter. You can make it sound through doing etc. ok and cymbals you just need. I have paid 500€ for my kit and it sounds very good. You have to make it together over time xD
