Golf 2 jerks extremely?

Good morning,

My Golf Mk2 with the NZ engine (1.3l catalytic converter) has been having extreme problems for a few days. It sometimes jerks extremely violently. What I mean by that is: sometimes it drives without problems, even long distances; sometimes you're afraid you're about to break down because it jerks as if the engine has completely turned off for a second or so. When it's in this state, it often loses idle and either stalls or runs very unstable.

The ignition is completely new; about a year ago, it received new ignition cables, a new ignition coil, and new distributor and rotors. The spark plugs were replaced in May 2021. I must say, however, that the cables aren't from the best manufacturer (Stark Automotive), as nothing else was available at the time.

I've already checked the thin vacuum hoses, and they're leak-proof. I still need to check the thicker ones, like the one to the brake booster.

I tested a few cables that might be the problem, and then I had one in my hand. I unplugged the connector and re-crimped it properly. At first, I thought that would fix it, but on my drive to work, it started jerking again.

The blue temperature sensor is also new

Roughing indicates ignition triggers. that arise when the el Component iO are towards a false air symtomatihg. I’d take a closer look at the crankcase ventilation.

I have often had the theme that these hoses on the lower side have simply dissolved and thus have caused false air.

This usually occurs with warm motor that when the hoses are softer then duech the motor vibration will leak less in the cooled state.

Let me know what you find out. Joachim

As far as I know, the NZ motor 4 has separate injection nozzles.

Evtl. is one of them erroneous (dripping or dosing wrong).

Furthermore, it can, of course, still be detonators or high voltage flashovers.

In both cases, a BOSCH service can help you. (Not cheap, but there are people who understand their craft)

If you get a power stroke, it’s definitely a lazy. It is possible to do that.

Yeah, there’s something wrong. There can be no beats. Check all cables on the correct seat. Tip: Drive to a dark place at night, run the engine while someone gives you gas. Often you can see well in the dark where it sparks. But don’t touch;-)

AFAIK is the NZ a central injector. Thus has only one injection nozzle.

This is the special feature of the NZ. That’s why he’s got 75 hp. How does Aunt Google say:-)

The NZ is an MPI engine. As already said.

Right! Read it! Where against the Engines NZ (1,3L /55PS), 3F (1.3 L / 75PS) and PS (1.3 L /113/115 HP) each have its own injection valve per cylinder…

Even though I was supposed to be in the PS number. There are 4 injection nozzles as I mentioned 😀

I did.

Please read the article by Der Schwarze 2er. That’s exactly what it says.

Yes, the NZ is an MPI engine. He has only 55 hp.

There has never been a NZ with 75 hp. You mean the 3F. It was only in the polo. NIcht in the golf.

In the contribution you link, it is for this reason that the NZ engine will be converted to 3F technology. What would be pointless if it had already been with 75 hp at work.

At the time, an acquaintance had new ignition cables installed at its 190 Benz.

They had his screwdriver still lying. Goods marked with “Made in West Germany”.

Car didn’t jump on – also distributed moorings. Find the error…;-)

The 1.6L EZ has 75 hp.
