Golf 2 has misfiring?

My Golf Mk2 has recently been experiencing minor misfiring, albeit irregularly. Sometimes nothing happens for a while, and other times it's a complete jerky ride. I've been told it might be a leak somewhere in the vacuum system. My idea for checking this was to connect a small, hand-operated vacuum pump to the various hoses to test whether everything is sealed. Does it work? And what else could be causing the misfiring? The ignition system (distributor, coil, cables, spark plugs, etc.) was completely replaced a few months ago. However, I must say that it's been having some idling issues (rough running) for a while now.

Most of the vacuum lines are bad. The plastic tube with rubber/woven hoses is used as connectors.
These will become porous at some point – for example, the automatic ignition adjustment no longer works as it should.
One of the simplest and cheapest repairs there is – 2m rubber hose with 4mm internal diameter cost ~5 Euro. Pushing with feeling on the nipple – too much force destroys the hose again or breaks off the nipple in extreme cases.
Some parts dealers are in stock with fabric reinforced hoses made of smooth rubber. They’re the best and never break again.
On and for itself, the NZ is one of the most uncomplicated and durable engines in the 2. Of course no moon rocket – should be clear.
Thank you very much, I just checked the plastic hoses with a vacuum pump. They are so dense, I will do your described “repair” but at some point I will do the next time just to avoid problems. In addition, I think I can also change the thicker hoses, for example the brake booster

At the RP was the problem that this was constantly oiled – so he ran worse and had less power. Brake cleaner was a miracle.
