Goldfish and alcohol?
At a party at the weekend, a glass of rum was tipped into a pond. There are goldfish in the pond and the pond is medium-sized, a standard allotment pond. Will the fish die from it or can they tolerate it because there is a lot of water in it and it gets diluted.
One glass of rum is so strongly diluted that nothing happens to the fish. But you don’t do the fish a favor, so make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Hi.
1 glass in a pond is usually diluted enough. Standard small garden tea may have 3000 liters and a glass with a cocktail may have 20 ml of Alk.
That would be a ratio of 1:150.000 and nontoxic.
I’d let them drink a glass of pond water.
