Glue air-drying modeling clay?
Hello folks,
I made something with air-drying modeling clay. Unfortunately, part of it broke off and didn't stick.
Unfortunately, I don't have any superglue or anything like that at home, just Pritt and liquid glue. I need to finish this in an hour, as I still have to paint it.
Can you simply stick the modeling clay on with eyelash/nail glue or will that not stick?
Do you have any other ideas on how I can best stick it on?
Maybe with a hot glue gun?
The modeling clay has already been drying for 24 hours and I have already tried to stick it with new modeling clay, but unfortunately this did not hold either.
Tone or ceramic can be wonderfully glued with wood glue, e.g. I don’t know if it works with modeling compound. Try it.
Thank you.
there is no way to fix it.
paint it and give it that way.
and learn that such things are not put on the last pusher.
self-curing modelling compound is not completely hardened after 24 hours.
you can try after painting whether you can temporarily stick it with patafix or a chewing gum.
Probably my answer comes a little too late but I have glued modeling compound with second glue, hot glue and normal liquid glue/bastel glue and it has kept everything. I think it’s only important that at least the breaking points are completely dried.
Thank you for your answer. I stuck it with second glue now. Liquid adhesive would not have worked, because this part that I have constantly dropped off had to hold on a round ball. I could not have held that until the liquid glue is dry. I’ll definitely try hot glue.
You should be able to see the part to give useful tips….
If not yet extremely dry, e.g. a needle can be inserted, which works a bit as a connecting member. Or a fine hole with nem Dremel and a small metal rod in.
I’ve tried that, I’m afraid it didn’t work. The modeling compound is unfortunately also completely hardened
Your main problem is the 1 hour period… I could honestly even just paint and then tell you that an accident happened to you, maybe it’s just being evaluated as if it wasn’t broken. in principle, you can simply take a little bite further modeling compound to connect the parts by this, but there will not be enough 1 hour in life:/
Yes, the one hour is really stupid, but I will probably do it as you wrote. What else would not happen to me now. Maybe I’ll find it on my way to the Bastellade and buy that second glue should hold it.
