Same work, less money?
Hello π
I work as a dog sitter. A few months ago, I was asked if we could take the money down. I actually did. But now, a few months later, the same question again.
I think we're slowly reaching a limit. But on the other hand, I'm afraid I'll lose my job if I don't agree.
I was actually really lucky to get this job, but the pay is getting smaller and smaller, and it just doesn't feel good.
I am grateful for every answer!
For me, it feels like someone’s trying to take advantage of your situation.
Work should also have its value. You have to pay your bills. You can kindly ask if it’s a bit close to your client. Then you can point out that despite inflation – which of course also applies to you – you have already been so generous to meet them even though you could not afford it. Then I would say that it is excluded to do this a second time. If they’re still talking, I’d offer less hours to work. And point out that you would have the opportunity to look for a second job to equalize the loss you cannot afford.
Thank you for your answer!
Really. Would you do that in a full-time job? Your chief dye, if he can go down with that and you say yes?
they can be happy to have such a great dog care, please don’t sell yourself under value! This should be a lesson for your whole life βπ»
Thank you for your answer!
Super happy βΊοΈ
No one can really take this decision.
Personally, I wouldn’t get involved in it and I’d rather take the risk.
Thank you for your answer!
Say no. If you don’t do it, they’ll come a third time.
Thank you for your answer!
Hi.
quite clearly, you offer a service and should not sell it under value.
As you shape your price, you’re left. Maybe you can somehow find out what other dog-sitters (which offer a similar performance as you) take average for care. Then you can better estimate how you are priced and whether you are more expensive or cheaper.
I wouldn’t do a second time. Works arbitrary.
Thank you for your answer!
Look at another job and quit.
Thank you for your answer!
Work has its value and you don’t have to sell yourself under your value.
Thank you for your answer!
Sure.
