In folk dance one usually dances a (open) Viennese waltz a “fast” waltz with which one often holds the dance partner only at hand.

You can go to YouTube

Open waltz, Viennese waltz and slow waltz. Then you see the differences.

I know the difference between the slow waltz and the (fast) Viennese waltz – but not a standard waltz (to slow and Viennese waltz) or folk dance waltz.

Apart from that, you can even find an answer to Google

Waltz (Dance) – Wikipedia

Waltzes come in numerous dance styles. There are two variants in the dance, in the folk dance there are a lot of waltz steps in the circle dances in addition to the pair dance

TheWiener Walzeris the fast waltz in the company dance.

TheSlow rolleris the dense shape of the roller. Here also figures are inserted.

The dance is much more relaxed in folk dance than at the dance. The upper bodies remain straight and are not inclined to the rear. The arms are angled so that less space is claimed. Often the man with his left hand does not grasp the right hand of the woman, but holds with her the upper body as he does with his right hand. The woman then puts her right hand on the upper arm or the shoulder of the man. This avoids the V-position of the pair and the rotation is easier.
