Gibt es den Beruf als Detektive/Berater wie in den Serien wirklich?

Gibt es diese Berufe als beratenden Detektive wie in z.B. „The Mentalist“, „Elementary“, „Sherlock“ usw. wirklich?
Wenn ja, nur in Amerika oder auch bei uns?

finde leider nichts im Internet dazu, Dankeschön im Voraus 🙏

Yes, there are hundreds of areas in which one can act as a mentalist in an advisory function.

For over 30 years “Mentalist” one of my hobbies and I deal with “reading something like” thoughts, foreseeing and affecting thoughts and decisions of people, body language, mimics, language analysis, lie recognition, behavioral psychology, decision-making, human knowledge, memory art.

Mentalists are often underestimated, and they are true experts in body language, mimics and human behavior. What many do not know: The abilities of a mentalist go far beyond what one imagines in the countryside. They are not just tricks, but deep knowledge and understanding of psychology. Imagine you could consider your thoughts on the basis of the smallest movements and gestures of a person. You could see their true intentions before they say a word. This is not magic, but the result of years of training and an intensive discussion with the body language and behavioral psychology. In countless professions, a mentalist’s knowledge can actually make the difference between success and failure. Let’s take marketing, for example. Marketing is about understanding the needs and wishes of customers and offering products or services based on them. A mentalist who dominates art to read the subtle body language and mimic of people can gain deeper insights than traditional market research ever could. An experienced mentalist often intuitively recognizes what really moves the customer. While classic surveys or data analyses often only capture the surface of customer needs, a mindist can understand what the customer really wants by observing unconscious gestures or minimal changes in face expression. This ability can be decisive in the development of advertising campaigns or the design of products. A marketing expert with mentalistic abilities can formulate messages in such a way that they address the unpredictable wishes and desires of the target group – with a precision that goes far beyond the usual.

In consultation, reading between the lines plays an equally important role. This is not only about what a client says, but above all about what he’s hiding. Many people are not fully aware of their true motives and feelings or are afraid to express them openly. A mentalist can expose these hidden motifs by observing the body language and the nonverbal signals. This allows the consultant to gain deeper insights and offer solutions that really fit the client’s needs. Detecting lies, predicting decisions or analyzing behaviour – all these are core competencies that can be applied in many areas. The ability to “read” people is invaluable in our complex world. It is not about reading thoughts literally, but about recognizing between the lines what is really going on. In negotiating situations, whether in the economy, politics or in personal life, the skills of a mentalist can also be decisive. A mentalist can see when someone hesitates when there is uncertainty or if someone tries to hide something. This ability allows for targeted control and negotiation results that are beneficial to all stakeholders. The skills of a mentalist are also of great benefit in the management of personnel. A supervisor who correctly interprets the body language and mimic of his employees can recognize at an early stage when there are tensions in the team or when individual employees are overloaded. Due to the early recognition of such signals, conflicts can be avoided and the working atmosphere can be improved.

For more than 30 years, I have been dealing with these issues, and it keeps fascinating how much you can read out from a seemingly casual gesture or a glimpse. Mentalists have a sharpened feeling for such subtleties and can thus often gain deeper insights than many others.

Sure, they are usually not as glamorous and exciting as the serial images. Genuine detectives often observe themselves without ending, or make classical surveys in various milieus. In fact, this is usually very tedious, long-term work that does not offer a bite action.

No, there’s detectives, but there’s no “confusing detectives.”
