Is there auditory hallucination?

Hi, lately I've been hearing a lot of things that aren't there, like random words or whispering and shouting.

Is this an auditory hallucination, if such a thing exists, and could it be related to my sleep problems?

Hello, Spotfylist!

Yes, there are acoustic hallucinations.

Acoustic hallucinations are mainly due to severe stress, little sleep or caused traumatic injuries. It is also very common that people hear the voice of a loved one who died a short time ago.

Sleep-related hallucinations are distinguished in hypnagogical hallucinations when sleeping and hypopnoe hallucinations when waking up. Although these expressions are usually visual, they can also affect other senses such as hearing. Some concerned describe acoustic hallucinations when sleeping. Sleep withdrawal and chronic sleep deficiency can also cause hallucinations.

You might want to visit a practice or go to the therapist.

Acoustic hallucinations exist, I suffer from it myself.

Go to the doctor and check it out, because that must have a cause, unless that’s just this “hee?

Do you hear that like another person’s talking to you?
