Commercial sale, purchased & processed item?

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question. What are the legal implications if I, as a business owner/company, purchase a product—for example, a wooden cutting board—from IKEA or elsewhere. Then engrave it with the customer's desired engraving and then resell it.

Is it permitted to buy products from company A, refine them and then resell them?

I would appreciate a reply. Thanks!

Hello EvilMagic,

Yeah, I think that’s not a problem. 👍

For security, you can ask again at the IHK, which should be considered. 🙏

Hello.

As far as I know, this is possible with a trade certificate which the many shops buy also from other companies, for example, the wholesale market.

I think the brand is not legally protected for so long, it should not be a problem otherwise simply to ask at the trade office or office of order. I am not in the issue now either.

But whether you buy something like this at the big market or in the Ikea there is actually no big difference only you always pay the VAT.

Of course. Except in the purchase contract (in the example here with IKEA), it is explicitly agreed that a commercial resale is excluded. Whether such a regulation can be valid is another question.

You can do that. Only, of course, guarantees and as far as you are. If what is, then you have to get up for it because IKEA hardly stands for what you have changed.

It’s a normal purchase.

Why don’t you go to the carpenter of your trust, cut your sizes and customize them?
