Earth exchanges would be at least cheaper than freezing the entire greenhouse.

When it comes to freezing the earth, it would have been taken out of the greenhouse at Frost, now is no frost.
However, the tip with the freezer is also good when you have one.

You can pack the earth in bags that you pack into the freezer. If the amount is low enough, you should be able to get rid of some unloved “guests” cryogen.
Cooking fresh is cheaper anyway, at least as long as you winter the earth.
