Get work as an illustrator?
Hello dear community.
I would love to use my artistic talent to illustrate some kind of commissioned work. I'm talking about creating artwork for books, card games, or board games, among other things. The question is, where and how can I volunteer for this? Or rather, will someone who hasn't completed an art degree or relevant training even be hired for such work?
I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me how best to approach something like this.
There is no training towards Illustrator.
I also wanted to live out this profession very much, but this profession is not so common in Germany.
Book Cover etc make more designer/media designer
You can only ask for the right direction Illustrator go direction comic etc. But for that they want to see a lot of experience and talent from you. Well, where do you get experience when there isn’t even training?
This is therefore a very hard and also not a safe profession.
There are only private schools that require more than 200€ from you and that doesn’t really interest anyone if you were there or not.
How do you think that this profession does not exist as a degree in Germany?
Education is not study that are 2 different things.
And then it’s just “visual communication” and as good as no one wants more these people, according to my media designer teachers because they only know how to design but do not have any idea of the implementation.
They work in companies themselves and have explained how unpopular art students are in the profession.
And if she wanted to NOT study so the point here is nothing
You can study illustrations and graphic designers, excellent here for example.

Being accepted is hard – they demand a lot and pick out the best.
