Make history?
I've been writing stories for a while, but they've always been short, not dramatically long ones. I want to write a longer story now, and maybe even a full-length book someday. I have tons of ideas, but I just don't know how to write them in a long format. Do you have any suggestions? I'd be very happy. 💕
Make a sketch, you can do it for texts. For example, in the form of a timeline, write up roughly what should happen there, so you can also link several action lines to each other, even that makes a story longer.
If you have such a timeline for the whole story, you can split it up for the individual chapters, even there you write in Groben trains what happens
And on this basis, you can then build up your story, even practical, so you can easily add things, or delete as it is a building block.
Thank you very much, I will try 😍🌹
It’s difficult. I could tell you now ‘make a script’, but it doesn’t help you because it only helps an idea that you already have to organize as well as possible, but does not help with the idea itself.
I think… an idea for a long story must be easy somewhere. It can also arise from the idea for a short story, no question at all. But usually you need at least one idea for the ground plan of a plot.
Ideally, you can ask yourself: what is actually ‘long’… Answer: A journey. This doesn’t have to be an actual journey from ‘A year with professional tennis player X on the ATP Tour’, but it can also be a journey in the transmitted sense.
For example, the development of a relationship or a personal personality. In the end, you need an idea that extends over a bit more than your short stories that might cover a scene while the longer story is composed of different scenes.
Well, since the story has to play over something more than this one moment, that’s an orientation. At the beginning, the final point and the question ‘what is actually going on’. In the end, you need this conflict, on whose solution the action of characters in the course of history is aimed.
And if you have this idea about it,
DANN can you really start organizing this because of ‘what should happen at the beginning, what should happen in the middle, how should the whole thing end (he decides for tennis or for B? Is there perhaps DOCH a compromise between both? And will B accept that?)
And if you constructed the plot so halfway then you can really go into detail and ask yourself how it is with the content of each chapter.
But as I said, first of all, you need an idea that is really quite capable of carrying a story of the extent. So, in the end, a conflict that is a little pulling. This can in turn be all, in this respect it should perhaps not be quite rough, but at least be designed to some extent.
All good and great success in writing 🙂
Thank you
Have you found an idea?
