Continue writing a story on Wattpad?
Hi,
I've written the first chapter of my story and wanted to know your opinion on whether I should continue or not.
Here is the link to the first chapter

What do you think of the story? Do you have any suggestions for improvement?
Whether you want to write on or not is ultimately a decision you have to make alone.
It also depends on the story you want to tell rather than on the style. He’s not the yellow egg right now, I’d say. But should I tell you something?
If that’s the first story you write or one of the first stories, that’s normal. You don’t open Word and at once the spirit of writing enlivens you and you can do everything at once.
What I noticed in my first story is that you really notice a change at some point. I have evolved through writing and I therefore think it is also important to write feedback, to consider and revise oneself and one’s own text.
To the excerpt, I can tell you that some spelling mistakes are in it (but you would find them in a careful revision), but in some cases it affects me very unprecedented. In the end, you give a description of action which, however, remains rather superficial and in which you briefly introduce the characters.
This is nothing unusual that you are really thinking about it at the beginning, but perhaps try to get the whole thing a little more into the actual act of pulling the actual plot.
The scene ‘She’s up in the morning, she’s going to school is actually rather unimportant for the story, I suppose. You have the paragraph in it to describe her appearance briefly and is good.
I have actually packed my entire exposure for the main character and its motivation into an interview, in which, however, the main conflict was already indicated and in which, in addition to the main character, other figures were already characterized. Not by a narrative from the off, but for example by its action).
Anyway, these are things that happen enormously often and that give themselves time and improvement of your experience and style.
That’s why I wouldn’t advise you to break a story that you’re hanging out and that means something that you’re writing clearly. You can always rework.
But if you realize that the story itself is somehow not that thing you want to sit on. If you realize that you may not be so convinced of the idea as before… then I would advise you to break off.
However, this is something you need to find in yourself… that’s nothing I can tell you, whether with or without a ‘sample’.
In this sense, I definitely wish you all the best for this story or another project 🙂 It is important, above all, that you do not let it be discouraged if it becomes difficult, but you want to know:)
Thank you for the detailed answer ^^
Whether you’re supposed to write on or not, it’s up to you. I don’t like this, no, but of course it meets the usual WattPad standard very well. It reads less like a narrative, rather than like a line list, a rough sequence of banalities. “She woke up, she went to school, there said that “blabla” and that “blabla”. Then she went there, there said the “blabla”, then she went home, there was “blabla” again. My German teacher would have said at the time, “Nothing is told here and nothing is shown, here is listed”. The problem that arises is, in the end, that the whole, large-scale history that you want to tell will only include a maximum of five printed pages, and actually reads just like a close content indication (with dialogues).
lg up
The first chapter is designed to present the characters. The following chapters are all written with the main part and then it goes right. If you don’t mind, I could tell you how it goes.
You can send me the link. If I have time, I read it. I can promise, I can’t promise, of course. 🙃
Okyy thanks for taking time btw
I think everyone should decide for themselves whether he is pursuing something further, that’s not a question for others.
