Is a salary of 3300CHF as a Trainee Data Engineering & AI in Zurich normal?

I have an offer as a trainee in Data Engineering & AI in a medium-sized company with around 150 employees.
The position is in Zurich and the start date is very tight (3 weeks).
I get 3300CHF gross per month and the program lasts for 6 months .

I have to find an apartment locally. I was recommended a business apartment, but these are expensive, costing between CHF 1,300 and CHF 3,000 per month.
With all the taxes and insurance, I have very little left at the end of the month.
Is this normal or should I request another salary negotiation?

3,300 CHF brutto I find a little bit odd for Switzerland. Normally you already earn at least 4,000 CHF gross per month if you don’t have a highly respected qualification.

Business Apartment

So at 3.3 brutto you probably have 2.7 to 2.8 net, so impossible to rent a business apartment, let alone live of it.

Yes, it’s normal, you could have found it easy with Google.

It’s about training and is something like an internship. Sometimes you can be happy if there is any wage.

Graduates underestimate that they do not bring much to an enterprise as newcomers without practical experience.

This is more normal because life in Switzerland is very expensive!?

The average wage (!) in Switzerland is about 6,800 francs a month!:)

6.800 Franken Average wage vs. 3,300 Franken Trainee salary … < ok!? o_O

You are / will be “just” a trainee … much more you can’t ask!

Especially since high and very high incomes are included in average income. So it doesn’t earn almost every Swiss 6800.-
