Is it dangerous to try the pill again?

Hi,

I'm 25 now and used the pill for contraception from age 18 to 22. However, I had very frequent migraines and lost my sex drive over the years, which is why I stopped taking it. The migraines became significantly less frequent, but my sex drive never returned (my testosterone levels were probably permanently damaged, so unfortunately, that factor is irrelevant anyway). I'd like to try the pill again and see if the headaches go away this time, but I'm not sure how dangerous it would be for my body if I stopped taking it again (in case the migraines return), since the pill significantly interferes with my hormone balance.

Do you think another attempt is safe?

Kind regards,

Clarissa

I can only advise you to look for the conversation with your female doctor and to address your wish, but also your concerns there.

You should clarify this with a specialist.

Learn about the side effects and consequences of the pill. Migraine and libido loss are still the harmless effects.
From today’s point of view, I would definitely not take the pill. There are much more harmless contraception methods.

You probably wanted to write this as an answer and not as a comment on my answer

Thanks for the hint. I guess I didn’t pay attention. I posted my comment again as an answer.

I don’t understand why you want to take the risk again. Prevention methods exist so many which are less or not harmful

You may need another preparation. I’ve already changed the pills for side effects.

a spiral or copper chain is also in question for you.

Maybe you just wear the No pill. It can happen.
I’d say you talk to your female doctor about it and ask her what she would recommend to you.

For the pill, you have to get a prescription to the (women) doctor anyway, with it you should discuss the whole thing.
