Restricted or unrestricted intake manifold?

Hello, I bought an unrestricted intake manifold (ASS) because I thought mine was still restricted. Now I notice that the supplied intake manifold has a smaller diameter than my previous one. It's possible, of course, that the previous owner had already replaced the original one. But I'm surprised that the new (unrestricted) one has a smaller bore than the old one. Can someone enlighten me?

A throttled ASS you recognize that in the inner a clear diameter reduction is generated, mostly by means of a rubber ring. This limits the air flow. The shown ASS is surrounded. The smaller diameter may be explained by the fact that it was not ordered by part number, but only a comparable spare part was bought. However, it does not matter in the surrounding area.

If the rubber is not damaged, the throttle is removed and no defects are present, nothing is against it 🙂
The rubber cures over the years and becomes cracked, small cracks are unproblematic, however, can lead to the roller pulling false air and thus running badly. It is also important to replace the seal, i.e. to insert old connectors (if i.O.) on it with new seal.
