Can a used WiFi router be used for a new contract?

I want to order a cable WiFi connection from Vodafone, but I'd rather use a used Fritz!Box (because it's cheaper). The router wasn't connected to my apartment before. If it's the right model, could there be any problems? Does anyone have any tips/experience? I'm not that well-versed on this topic yet, but feel free to answer using technical terms!

Before talking to VF. They may need to delete the router from their system before you can reuse it. If anything else is required, the support can tell you that.

Hello,

already for several years the Routerzwang is over by provider!

So every router goes – also a used one of classifieds.

Connect the access data from the provider, done!

Best regards from Leipzig

In the coax network, this works somewhat differently with the “access data” than with DSL.

Oh, well, pick up the “cable”.

They moved a year ago and needed a new router to change DSL to Cable. Also bought by private use: router went, but no internet. Vodafone called, who first wanted to know the SN from the router. This could not go because it was a loan, and the seller could not have sold it at all. I’m supposed to get some legal routers before they’re cooking. So the buy is back wounded. The seller said he bought it privately, and it was with him. New products bought, of course, did not go. Service has come and has first looked at the SN from the router. Then something screwed in the basement and in the wall and it ran.

And what do we learn from it? All Ar..lΓΆ…

Why this can’t have various causes. You must have a false level or component.

And the aunt on the phone can not look into the installation on site.

The aunt’s statement on the phone, rental equipment would work exclusively on the booked connection was obviously wrong, as I see no reason to doubt its credibility due to the type of communication with the seller.
