Bought a used car, how do I pick it up?
Hello there,
I have a question.
I looked at a used car two weeks ago and have already made a down payment because I'm pretty sure I'll take the car.
Well, I'm only 18 years old, so I'm not very familiar with the subject of registering or transferring a used car, and I can't figure it out on the internet either.
So it has been agreed that the current owner will keep the car registered until Monday, November 11, 2024.
However, I don't have any liability insurance or my own license plate yet, as I only passed my driving test yesterday.
Now the question was when I would pick up the car from the owner. Assuming I pick it up on Saturday, the car is still registered and insured to the dealer, right? Can I still drive the car with the dealer's license plate and return it with the license plate once I have my own?
Does insurance play a role?
As soon as the car is with me, I will of course immediately register it in my name.
Thanks in advance!
Then you have to get an eVB number in your mother’s insurance. eVB = electronic insurance confirmation. You don’t need the papers of the car.
This also goes online or even personally at the insurance office. Maybe she could call and call the phone.
You don’t need a driver’s license to allow a car. This does not interest the agency or insurance.
Yes, that’s allowed if the holder allows. Otherwise, you’d have to get a short-term sign for the transfer.
No. The insurance always runs on the car, not on the holder, even if it is in the papers and paid.
To do this, you will need the eVB number that you can get or mothers now, identity card, vehicle papers and often an appointment at the registration office.
Congratulations, and the subject really didn’t come to the driving school.
With the purchase, the previous insurance is also bought and therefore can be unrolled home and so on.
Good time.
Unfortunately, this did not happen in theory.
Doesn’t sound good.
I think the question is settled, thank you!
Thanks, so a supplement: But if the good piece is still approved, this is the case here.
If it is still registered, you can simply take it if the seller agrees with it. you already have an appointment with the road traffic office. In some communities this can take a few weeks.
let go, pay purchase price. Take papers and keys and get home. Vehicle is approved and insured.
At home, check the car, if you’re lucky, you can keep the license plates.
You don’t need a driver’s license at all to complete a KFZ insurance and not to log on a vehicle
However, you need the vehicle papers and proof of existing insurance protection and valid TÜV for the re/registration.
The papers will give you the seller only after full payment of the purchase price.
So you should pay off the vehicle first, let the papers give you, re-register the vehicle (or if it has already been unsubscribed) and you can drive with it. First you need the driver’s license.
You can book a pair of license plates online at the authority and even order them online at various dealers. However, you can also have a random order and then close to the registration office just let you press a few license plates.
Thank you for your answer.
The seller is an acquaintance who has already presented the papers to me.
However, my mom stayed with him so that we can take the papers until we get the car.
I would have paid the car at the same time during the pickup.
In addition, my mother would like to insurvey me with her or possibly register the car immediately and register me as the 2nd driver.
Which is why I think they should have gone to insurance personally.
Unfortunately, she’s only coming home tomorrow, because she had to do something for a week for personal reasons.
And this, most expensive variant really comes from your insurance person, or has mother free SF classes for you or can make a discount exchange.
Then the car must still be registered at the time of pick-up, otherwise it must not be moved.
But there can be something wrong, because with the purchase, the insurance will be bought, and so the buyer can of course also drive if he has the driving licence as here.
Not so completely, with license plates and eVBN, can be operated within the approval district and out of the neighbouring circles without authorisation.
Yeah. Then it would still work on Saturday when the admission expires on Monday.
Wasn’t quite sure.
