I'm looking for a good series that I could watch on a weekend.
Many people tell me I should watch Game of Thrones, but what exactly is it about this series? Why does this series appeal to you so much?

8 seasons in one weekend shouldn't be possible.
GoT is one of the best series for me (even if it gets worse with each season). By season 8 you practically need night vision goggles to be able to see anything in some episodes.
For me, one of the attractions was that the characters and their personalities were shown from different perspectives.
Without spoilers and a novel-length answer, all I can say is: Yes, watch it and hang in there while the intrigue builds.

I don't think you'll be able to watch it all in one weekend, but at least the first few seasons are sensational.
And if you want a classic: Miami Vice. You won't be able to binge the entire series in one sitting, but for me, it's one of the best TV series ever made. Even though the first episodes are almost 40 years old…
Staffel 1 – 4 sind hervorragend. Sie hat gute Dialoge, interessante Charaktere, interessante Verwicklungen/Konflikte und viele ĂĽberraschende, durchaus krasse Twists. Von der Atmosphäre eher “gritty”, also rau (Westeros ist ein gefährlicher Ort). Zum Teil auch sehr freizĂĽgig. Ab Staffel 5 geht es mit der Qualität leider etwas runter (wobei die 5. noch gut ist), nur die letzten 3 Staffel sind nicht so mega, aber da sind immer noch gute Momente dabei. Die letzte Staffel war nicht so toll.
Insgesamt meiner Meinung nach eine absolut sehenswerte Serie.
The final season was actually crap. While the first seasons took their time to explore the depths of human nature and develop characters, the final season, while full of special effects, was essentially a run-of-the-mill fantasy series. If I had watched the first season last, I would never have watched the others. I found season eight completely disappointing.
