My family doctor diagnosed me with gallstones today. I'm not experiencing any discomfort or pain, and there's no inflammation. He said I'll have to have surgery as long as there are no symptoms. I just need to pay attention to my diet. Is that true?
Can they disappear on their own?

That's true, gallstones can disappear again if they are small and do not cause any symptoms.
Trust the doctor, but if it gets worse, go to the doctor again
