Future prospects for HTL graduates in programming?

Is it worthwhile these days to attend a technical college and then pursue a career in programming, despite the rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence (Chat GPT).

Hi.

even a few years ago my technicians made in the info and did not work as a developer, but as an operator – here in the field of deployments, monitoring (using AI) etc. also more and more automated. However, we do not have less to do, rather on the contrary. In the overall picture, in many areas, work by automation is not necessarily less, it often shifts only into other areas of themes.

We will not be replaced but our work will be facilitated.

GPT (or similar models) will change how software is written. Some activities will be completely irrationalized, others will be added.

But this has always been the case since the early age of computer science, and the need for software has not been less.

In the last few years, apart from constantly “new” frameworks and languages (mostly old wine in new tubing), there was no great innovation.

Yeah. Got a buddy who was also at the HTL and is now a programmer at a company for 4 years.

I did the HTL myself and then I studied INFO. But even after the HTL can start into the area.
