Foot pain after long periods of standing/walking, how long?
Hello everyone,
I've worked in the restaurant industry for the past 10 years and have always been in top shape. I averaged between 20,000 and 30,000 steps a day. On my days off, I often went hiking and exercised. My weight at that time was always between 55 and 60 kg.
Unfortunately, a year and a half ago I had a double herniated disc and several other setbacks and since then I have not worked and unfortunately also gained a lot of weight up to 92 kg at 1.56 cm.
I'm currently slowly losing the weight and after my rehab I want to go back to work as soon as possible.
However, I am very shocked because after 2 hours of standing or 2 hours of walking my feet hurt so unbelievably.
I'm not familiar with anything like that, as I've easily had 14-hour shifts before without sitting in between.
I have already been to the doctor and do not have any foot deformity.
Now my question: Does anyone of you know this?
If so, how long does it take for your feet to get used to standing/walking for long periods again?
Is this just because I've gained so much weight or do people of normal weight also have this problem?
Go to the orthopaedic, you might need special shoe soles or inserts for the shoes. Your legs and feet are not used to the higher weight, the load is higher than before.
Are you wearing deposits?
Not so far.
