Führerschein im halben Auslandsjahr in Kanada möglich?
Hallo,
ich bin momentan 15 Jahre alt und habe vor nächstes Schuljahr, wenn ich 16 Jahre alt bin, ein halbes Auslandsjahr in Kanada zu machen. Die Frage, die jetzt aufkam, ist, ob es möglich ist, dass ich meinen Führerschein dort machen könnte und ihn dann später hier in Deutschland überschrieben lassen könnte. Ich habe eben einmal kurz recherchiert und habe von verschiedenen Webseiten bestätigt bekommen, dass das generell geht, doch ich konnte jetzt so schnell nicht zum genauen Ablauf finden bzw. Herausfinden. Daher wollte ich nachfragen, ob mir einer von euch vielleicht einen genauen Ablauf sowohl in Kanada, als auch hier in Deutschland erläutern könnte.

On the one hand, the rules in the Province apply. The system of a Learners License is very common there and the rules differ depending on the province. However, I.d.R. is only given a Learners License and can then carry out practical examination after a certain time. I was in Saskatchewan, for example, and there were 9 months. With my 10 months stay, I just made it this way and only because you can take the theoretical examination before completing a complete theory lesson. I know the other provinces have a long time, I don’t know the other ones.
In addition, a half-year stay abroad is usually not really half a year, but rather 5 months. (We are usually not a year away for a year, but about 10 months)
You have to get there, but min. 185 days. This is not possible for a half-year stay abroad. (And yes, this is checked, I had to present school certificates of my high school, for example)
If you come back with the foreign driver’s license, you can only rewrite it after reaching the local minimum age! Also holders of foreign driving licences must have reached the minimum age of 18 and there may be exceptions for passing tourists.
There is no car driver license for 16 years. What do you want to do? Foreign driving licences are valid in Germany for only 6 months anyway. Somehow the bill isn’t for you. Better focus on your time and school.
