From B class to B197?
Good morning,
I'm currently working towards a class B driver's license and am now waiting for my theory test. I want to, or rather, I will switch to B197. My driving school told me that the switch is straightforward. Just sign the contract and that's it. After I've passed the practical test, I'll receive a B197 certificate, and I have to take it to the driver's license office. However, the examiner can see that I'm doing class B. The TÜV also lists class B. Or is that completely irrelevant? So, until the practical test, I don't have to apply for anything, and my driver training will continue under B197. Isn't that something fishy? Or is it normal?
You could inform the authority in advance, but you usually have no added value, for this, you can save yourself.
It’s like the driving school told you. For this, you will receive an extra certificate that you should submit to the examiner, but at the latest to the authority. It will then change the application and issue a driving authorization.
Oh, I have to show the tester the certificate as I understand?
Yeah, that’s it.
