If you want to kill your Li battery, this is the optimal procedure. Hopefully, your household insurance also covers grossly negligent behavior if it should burn.

4.2 volts suggests lithium cell – you want to load the same differently than with current limitation.

The CC/CV method is popular: only, depending on the state of charge, with limited (lower than nominal) current to fixed minimum voltage—that is to say quasi "charge", then with constant current to redefined voltage, and then switch to gradually decreasing current, to the extent the cell voltage approaches the end voltage.

For this, however, you take not only a resistance, but an active electronics that monitors the state of charge, ie periodically switches over from charging to measuring briefly, in order to switch over at the correct moments.

Take a reasonably available charging electronics for the purpose.

Or a finished charger for lithium batteries, and those prefer not than 2.99€ models.

Fire and explosion proof bags. Or sand-filled pots.

No resistance who does not want to make or should 1S Lithium Lipo Charger Charger 500mA or 1000mA Mini add the charge of 50-1000mA with display and battery full power supply with power supply 5Volt DC or USB power supply

You can't charge a battery via a resistor like this, which would break the battery.

On YouTube, an Elfbar disposable cigarette has disassembled and charged the battery contained therein – in a charger designed for this purpose. Please save the consequences that you will suffer with the originally planned solution almost forcibly.

Sorry, wanted to click helpful and it reacted with "not helpful". Only I can't reverse this by clicking on it immediately. Strange.

Probably, you can describe "report response" that this happened mistakenly, and the mods ask to take the "not helpful" away.

At times, I'll just push you to "helpful", then the balance is correct.

I still thank you, because you wanted to click helpfully.

I'll sleep over it for the first time.

Not that the moderators from overload simply remove the answer.

But thank you for your offer and the tip.

You don't charge batteries over a resistor, even if it's one with lithium technology.
